The Communities Prepared programme is funded by The National Lottery Reaching Communities England Fund, with additional financial support from the Prince’s Countryside Fund and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN). This essential funding enables us to provide communities across England with free training and advice, supporting the development of multi-role volunteer groups that have the confidence and skills to manage a range of emergencies. The National Lottery Community Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund distributes over £600m a year to communities across the UK, raised by players of The National Lottery. Their Reaching Communities programme provides flexible funding over £10,000 for up to five years to organisations in England with great ideas that enable communities to thrive.
The Prince’s Countryside Fund
The Prince’s Countryside Fund has grants of up to £50,000 available for projects that will provide a long-term positive impact to the individuals and communities they seek to benefit. Their grants aim to sustain rural communities, improve the prospects of viability for farm and rural businesses, and support aid delivery in an emergency and build resilience.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks
SSEN’s Resilient Communities Fund supports communities to improve their resilience. The fund is particularly focused on projects which help vulnerable or isolated people living in their network areas. This is the fifth year of the fund and during this time SSEN has provided £1.572million of funding to 216 projects.
