The Simex Series is the UK’s largest annual international disaster response exercise. It is an operational (live controlled) field exercise designed to establish a learning environment for players to exercise disaster event response plans, policies and procedures.
The Schools community resilience project (SCRP) has been developed in partnership with local emergency services. The aim is to prepare students with an awareness of emergency planning so that they are more self-resilient within our community. The project has been devised as a pull of the shelf resource, which can be used when it suits you. Our role is to make sure that the environment and human health are protected, to ensure that Scotland’s natural resources and services are used as sustainably as possible and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
Our aim is to reduce the impacts of flooding on individuals and communities, through providing immediate support and by establishing a network of community resilience groups in flood risk areas to equip communities to cope with the impacts and threat of flooding.
