This training webinar covers the role of a Flood Warden in assisting their community as well as flood risk awareness.

The session explores the causes of flooding, including the impact of Climate Change, the different types of flooding and how flood risk is communicated by the Environment Agency. It then moves on to the important issue of flood water safety, with information and guidance for flood volunteers on carrying out their roles safely and responsibly, minimising exposure to risks and supporting the community.

Join this session to build your knowledge on a range of key topics, including:

• Managing flood risk – who’s responsible?

• Weather and flood warning systems

• The potential role of a Warden before, during and after a flood

• Protecting the wellbeing of a Warden and the wider community during a flood whilst managing the daily realities of COVID-19
