This webinar provides guidance for volunteer group Coordinators and those involved in organising or leading volunteering efforts in Dorset.

Leading a group of volunteers or managing volunteering efforts during an emergency can be a daunting experience, even for the most experienced. This webinar from Communities Prepared provides guidance for Community Emergency Volunteer (CEV) Coordinators, Lead Flood Wardens and anyone involved in organising volunteering efforts within their community. Discussion points include managing volunteers and maintaining engagement and how to integrate or build upon partnerships with the wider emergency response structure. This webinar will be co-delivered with the Environment Agency’s Wessex Flood Resilience Team with support from Dorset Prepared.

Join this session to build your knowledge on a range of key topics, including

• Leadership skills

• Organising training sessions

• Managing volunteer debriefing sessions

• Writing risk assessments

As well as giving advice on managing a group during an emergency, the session also provides tips on setting up a group and running training sessions, based on first-hand experience from volunteer groups.

Who is this for?

This webinar has been primarily designed for Community Emergency Volunteer (CEV) Coordinators, Lead Flood Wardens and anyone involved in organising volunteering efforts within Dorset, but is also open to:

Community organisations, Town and Parish Councils and those interested or working in community resilience within the locality.
