Our role is to make sure that the environment and human health are protected, to ensure that Scotland’s natural resources and services are used as sustainably as possible and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

Our aim is to reduce the impacts of flooding on individuals and communities, through providing immediate support and by establishing a network of community resilience groups in flood risk areas to equip communities to cope with the impacts and threat of flooding.

Scottish Mountain Rescue represents 24 volunteer Mountain Rescue Teams (including 2 Search and Rescue Dog Associations (SARDA), Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation and the Search And Rescue Aerial Association – Scotland (SARAA – Scotland) with over 800 volunteers.

In the event of a power cut, our teams work around the clock to restore your electricity as quickly as possible. We appreciate for some customers this may be particularly distressing and that’s why we offer extra support to customers who feel they need our help.

We all rely on electricity day to day for various things, but for some, a power cut can be particularly distressing and difficult. That’s why we offer extra help and support during a power cut. Registering for our Priority Services helps us to help you when you need it most. All our priority services are free.
